Demands for stop sign changes are finally being met at an accident-prone intersection in Longwood.
Community members had been calling for a four-way stop after at least three cars crashed at East 156th and Kelly streets since December. One of those accidents included a police van and livery cab that slammed into a day care center.
In a statement, the Department of Transportation (DOT) said, "After taking into account recent crash history at this location, we found this location meets federal guidelines for all-way stop controls. Installation is expected in the next few weeks.
