Heat advisory doesn't keep residents from going outdoors
A heat advisory issued through Monday evening for New York City did not stop residents from heading outdoors.
A number of people were seen trying to beat the heat at Canarsie Pier by fishing, biking and enjoying the scenery and a cool breeze.
Health officials advise residents to stay cool and hydrated. They say seniors, people without air conditioning and those with chronic health conditions are at risk the most.
