Arrest made in J’Ouvert shooting death of 22-year-old woman

Police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a 22-year-old woman during the J'Ouvert festival in Brooklyn.
Police say they arrested 20-year-old Regenald Moise on a drunken driving offense shortly after the shooting and learned he may have been connected.
Investigators say they located bullet casings at the scene where Tiarah Poyau was shot in the face at the intersection of Empire and Washington avenues Sunday.
Poyau was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
Moise allegedly called a friend to ask if he could hide his gun inside their apartment. Once inside, Moise allegedly fired two bullets into a wall, broke a mirror and cut his hand on a piece of glass before driving away in his car and crashing into parked vehicles on Parkside Avenue.
Police say the bullet casings found at the scene of the shooting matched the ones inside the apartment.
According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce, the suspect admitted that the gun went off and he possibly shot someone before requesting an attorney.
Moise is being charged with second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
Police are still looking for the man who shot and killed a 17-year-old male at the J'Ouvert festival.
