Police: 3 in custody after pursuit from SI to Brooklyn
Police say three out of five suspects are in custody after leading officers on a chase from Staten Island to Dyker Heights Friday morning while possibly holding a woman hostage.
Police say a 20-year-old woman was with a man she agreed to meet in Brooklyn when she fell asleep. She says when she woke up five black men were standing over her with guns asking her, "Where's the stuff?"
She claims she was forced into a black BMW and taken to Staten Island. She says that is when she called her aunt, who then called police.
Officers say the driver of the black BMW refused to pull over and crashed into several vehicles on 65th Street and 10th Avenue in Dyker Heights before the five men jumped out of the car and ran away.
Surveillance video from a market at the intersection of 65th Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway shows the car and police chasing behind it right before it crashed into several parked cars.
Police say the woman was taken to the hospital after complaining about a leg injury.
Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
