Park Slope movie theater to undergo major renovations
A Park Slope movie theater that has been a neighborhood fixture for nearly a century will soon be getting a major makeover.
By the end of October, the Pavilion Theater will undergo renovations and be transformed into what will eventually be known as Nitehawk Prospect Park.
The updated theater will be the second location for Nitehawk Cinema, a movie theater in Williamsburg that has reimagined the movie-going experience.
Moviegoers will be able to order food off of a full menu and enjoy a social bar area outside the showroom.
Nitehawk's founder says it is a much-needed upgrade for a theater with a long and difficult history.
The owner says he hopes to have the overhauled theater up and running by the fall of next year.
