Blue Ribbon Movement promotes police safety
Police supporters are turning Bay Ridge blue on behalf of the NYPD.
Lori Mohlenhoff and Carmen Shouldis say they started the Blue Ribbon Movement to protect their loved ones and other officers after recent killings of police officers.
Mohelnhoff is married to an officer, and Shouldis has a son on the force.
State Sen. Martin Golden is supporting the program. He says residents and business owners can show support by picking up blue ribbons at his office, for free, and then displaying them in their windows or on trees.
