Pieces of Staten Island's NY Wheel arrive in Brooklyn

The first pieces of Staten Island's New York Wheel have arrived in Brooklyn.
In addition to being the largest observation wheel in the Western Hemisphere, it will create 350 construction jobs and 350 additional permanent jobs.
The four legs were made in Italy and were unveiled at the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal on Tuesday, across the harbor from their final destination: the northern tip of Staten Island.
Each leg stands 275 feet tall and weighs 500 tons. They will form the base of the 60-story wheel slated to open in spring 2018. Several pieces, including the legs, will be assembled along the Brooklyn waterfront.
Officials say they hope the wheel will add a boost in tourism.
