Worker killed in construction accident on Bond Street

A construction accident inside a future Downtown Brooklyn hotel left a worker dead Tuesday afternoon, officials say.
A crane hook fatally struck Paul Kenedy, a 43-year-old Bronx man, in the head at 61 Bond St. around 1:20 p.m., according to police.
They say he was operating the crane, and the accident happened after he got out.
The building had an anticipated completion date in April 2018.
"We are deeply saddened by this terrible tragedy," a company spokesperson said after the accident. "Our thoughts are with the grieving family at this time."
The spokesperson added that the company is cooperating with investigators and has a commitment to "the highest standards of safety."
