Coney Island street renamed after famous diner

A Coney Island street has been renamed to honor the creator of a famous Brooklyn eatery.
City officials say former 753rd Coney Island Ave. has been renamed "George's Way" in honor of the late Harry P. Montauredes, the founder of the famous George's Diner.
The diner opened in 1956, and is still owned by Montauredes's family.
He passed away more than two decades ago, but his legacy and diner continue to live on.
Montauredes was a combat soldier in World War II and is remembered for his generosity.
