A groundbreaking was held Monday for the city's Saratoga Ballfields expansion project.
Students from nearby P.S. 178 were invited for the announcement from the city's Parks Department.
The park on Boyland Street will get brand-new playground equipment, an interactive spray shower, basketball courts and a walking track.
The renovations are possible through the city parks initiative launched in October 2014.
Students say they are already excited for what the playground will offer when it is finished sometime next year.
