P.S. 46 students celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Elementary students at P.S. 46 in Fort Greene celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by hosting a huge celebration of Hispanic culture and music for the community.
The school hosted a variety of cultural attractions, ranging from flag displays to Mexican music and Latin dance performances.
"We want children at our school to feel that their diversity is celebrated," the school's principal Karyn Nicholson told News 12 Brooklyn. "With a large population of Hispanic students, some parents tell me that they like their children being able to share their own culture and learn about others through this celebration."
A P.S. 46 student also commented, "It's important to me, because I have a lot of ancestors from Hispanic countries."
