Bangladeshi Muslim community gathers to discuss Trump
Members of the Bangladeshi Muslim community came together in Kensington Friday to discuss concerns over President-elect Donald Trump.
Many say they fear how their lives will be affected under the Trump administration. Some say they hope Trump will be different as a president than the candidate they saw on the campaign trail.
"Holding events like this reminds us that your communities are so important and people around you are so important," says Community Leader Hasiba Haq. "Knowing that we have each other's backs and that those principles of freedom of religion and inclusion and welcome are the core American ideals and we're going to fight for them."
Councilman Brad Lander also assured the group that Islamophobia has no place in Brooklyn.
