Mother of gun violence victims creates memorial park
A Brooklyn mother is turning grief into a way to help others.
Angel Hendy, who lost two sons to gun violence, had an idea to create a park where other mothers and families can sit, reflect and remember their children.
The Heavens Little Angels park, in collaboration with the New York City Parks Department, will build a memorial wall where families can post pictures of victims of gun violence.
The park will also feature a fountain, a garden, benches and a place for kids to play.
The park has come to life with donations of cement trucks and cleaning materials from local businesses like Glenwood Supply.
Hendy says the park is expected to be completed in less than six months due to so much help from the community.
