Officer released from hospital after suspect shot dead in Brooklyn attack

The second officer attacked by a suspect who was subsequently shot dead by police has been released from the hospital.

Officer Andris Bisono was released from the Jamaica Hospital center Sunday.

His partner, Jennifer Garcia, was also injured and later released from the hospital.

Police say the two officers confronted the suspect, Erickson Gomez Brito, inside the hallway of a public housing facility in Brownsville before he attacked them with their own batons and was shot dead in the process.

Meanwhile, the suspect's family is questioning the actions of the NYPD and demanding answers to the use of force in the incident.

Police say they are still investigating.
