Maimonides Medical Center donates to local parishes

Maimonides Medical Center hosted its 21st annual 'Celebration of Light' event to collect donations to decorate the borough.
The event brought together 35 Catholic parishes in South Brooklyn, with each receiving $1,000 in donations from the medical center. Organizers say the donations help pay for trees and decorations this holiday season.
"We just want to light up the world and this is a way, it's the best way, to light up the world," says Douglas Jablon, of Maimonides Medical Center.
Organizers say it feels good to give back and celebrate the community in a festive way.
