Public hearings on MTA proposed fare hikes begin in Queens
The first public hearing on the MTA's proposed fare and toll hikes got underway Monday in Queens.
The new prices are expected to go into effect on March 19.
There are two different proposals for subway and bus fares, but both scenarios would raise the price of a 30-day unlimited MetroCard by $4.50.
Brooklyn's public hearing on the proposal is set for Dec. 19 at 5:00 p.m. in the Walt Whitman Theater at Brooklyn College.
