Police look to question ex-boyfriend in death of correction officer

Police continue to investigate the shooting death of an off-duty correction officer in Flatlands on Sunday.
Officials have told News 12 they are looking to question the ex-boyfriend of rookie Correction Officer Alastasia Bryan in connection with her murder.
The 25-year-old had just recently started work at Rikers Island when she was gunned down in her car. The Daily News has reported that an inmate at the prison may have ordered a hit on Bryan, although police have not confirmed this.
The city's law enforcement and the community joined together in a show of support and remembrance for Bryan at a vigil Monday night near East 73rd Street.
Mayor Bill de Blasio has promised an aggressive investigation.
The correction officers union is offering a $50,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the shooting.
