NYCHA, nonprofit team up for new Red Hook playgrounds

The New York City Housing Authority has partnered with nonprofit organization KaBOOM! to work on the Superstorm Sandy recovery program at the Red Hook Houses.
The plan is to design and build new playgrounds in the neighborhood.
For input, NYCHA went to the experts on playgrounds: kids. The agency asked them to design their dream playgrounds.
Children from the Red Hook Houses shared their designs with NYCHA, and those involved in the project were pleased with their vision.
Parents and children are excited about the ideas and believe there is a bright future for playgrounds in their neighborhood.
