Families receive health screenings, gifts in Crown Heights

Families in temporary housing were treated to a full day of pampering complete with health screenings Saturday.
The second annual St. John's Family Center's Healthy Holiday Party aimed at raising awareness about health concerns, especially for families that currently live in temporary housing.
Attendees - who were screened for diabetes, high blood pressure and HIV - received coats, children's gifts, haircuts, manicures and eyebrow detailing for free.
Organizers say they want to see the event continue to grow and hope to add mammography screenings in the future.
