Activists spread peace in an effort to stop gun violence

Elected officials, community leaders and residents came together Wednesday night to spread peace in an area that has recently been hit hard by acts of gun violence.

Since the fatal shooting of rookie correction officer Alastasia Bryan earlier in the month, there have been several other instances of violence, and community members say they've had enough.

To raise awareness, activists are passing out anti-gun violence information and speaking with people in the neighborhood.

Community leaders plan to go to Canarsie High School on Thursday to educate students on gun violence.
