Fuhgeddaboudit Food: Fried burger at Korzo

An occasional menu item at a South Slope restaurant has now become a highly requested specialty.
The Fried Burger at Korzo is an 8-ounce meat patty that is cooked to order and topped with an array of ingredients. It's then wrapped in dough and dropped into a deep fryer.
"The dough is really light and fluffy but then the meat itself is cooked to perfection," says customer Samuel Guo. "All the oils and greases are still trapped in it so it's like amazingness in every bite."
Korzo, an eastern European eatery, combined a classic dish with a modern twist for the burger creation.
"One of our most successful dishes was a flat fried bread called langos," says owner Otto Zizak. "Now when coming up with the idea of putting a burger on the menu and making ours unique, we thought it would be nice to incorporate the fried bread into the burger."
The restaurant also offers a veggie burger as an alternative, made with black eyed peas, walnuts, carrots and garlic.
