An NYPD spokesman says a man accused of firebombing an Islamic cultural center and four other sites on New Year's Day has confessed to the crimes.
Police spokesman Paul Browne says the man, who was taken into custody today, had personal problems with each of the sites that were targeted.
Crude Molotov cocktails were tossed into a convenience store, two homes in Queens, one in nearby Nassau County and an Islamic center.
Police say they found the suspect through video of his car.
The suspect has been identified as Ray Lazier Lengend, a 40-year-old man of Guyanese descent. Police say he's facing hate crime and arson charges.
