Colorful costumes created ahead of West Indian Day Carnival
Hundreds of people decked out in brilliantly colored costumes will take over Eastern Parkway this Labor Day weekend for the West Indian Day Carnival. Hours upon hours of planning and designing have gone into the outfits for the festivities. An intricate process of sewing, stitching and trimming is behind each one of the brightly colored outfits. Designer Hayden John, of Phoenix International, says his creative costumes go for about $300 each.
