Williamsburg residents are thrilled that a new business will be moving into a lot that has been vacant for almost 30 years.

The lot, located at 105 Metropolitan Ave., was a former brownfield site, which meant that it was polluted and not fit for commercial or industrial use. Officials cleaned up the lot and the new business signed the lease.

Ayton Performance, a race engine design facility, is expected to open next summer.
