Sheepshead Bay residents baffled by boat mystery
A boat filled with garbage appeared overnight on a busy road in Sheepshead Bay, prompting neighbors to contact police and float ideas as to how it got there. The vessel was docked in the middle of Emmons Avenue, with its garbage and trash cans overflowing onto the street. Some neighbors say it appears to be a prank, while others say they just want the eyesore removed immediately. Authorities are waiting for a truck to tow the boat as they try to determine how it left the water. Meanwhile, they have confirmed the name of at least one of the boat's previous owners. The Department of Sanitation says they will most likely remove the boat Wednesday.
