Police seek deceptive duo in Midwood robberies

Police are searching for a man and woman suspected of robbing two Midwood homes by posing as utility workers. Joe Rushford says the suspects walked into his 90-year-old mother's home at 2047 59th St. on Tuesday. The woman allegedly distracted the victim, while her accomplice stole jewelry and money from the bedroom. Police say the duo likely pulled off a similar burglary last week at 109 Ryder Ave., located in the same neighborhood. Residents say the area is safe and quiet, and may have been targeted for those reasons. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
