Show to go on at landmark Brooklyn Heights Cinema

Brooklyn cinephiles have a reason to celebrate after the landmark Brooklyn Heights Cinema announced it would not be going dark.

The cinema faced possibe closure over a dispute with its landlord, who wanted to convert the space into apartments. After movie lovers spoke up, the landlord changed plans.

The new plans call for rebuilding the cinema along with a new basement space for live performances.

The cinema will, however, relocate temporarily while construction takes place, which could begin as early as this fall.
