Elderly East NY couple evicted from home

An elderly East New York couple is fighting for justice after they say their management company unfairly forced them out of their home.
According to William and Marion Davis, they decided not to buy their rent-controlled apartment of 36 years when the building was converted to a condominium complex 20 years ago. Since then, they say the management company has harassed and taken them to court under false pretenses.
The couple also says they were tricked into signing a document ordering them to pay what management claims is $26,000 in overdue rent. However, the Davis family says their checks were repeatedly rejected by the landlord.
A representative for the management company told News 12 Brooklyn they have no comment at this time.
