BK book stores turn past digital competition

Local book merchants say the independent print business is booming in Brooklyn, despite new technology making digital copies easier to access. Shoppers at The Community Bookstore in Park Slope say they value the venue's smaller setting and the relationship they've forged with the clerks. The store has been a staple in the community since the early 1970s. The borough's book scene is staying afloat while national chains struggle in an era of electronic readers.
