Traffic delays expected due to NYC half marathon

Drivers heading to some of the tri-state area bridges and roadways could see delays this weekend with the NYC half marathon getting under way Sunday, March 18.

The marathon begins at 7:30 a.m. in Central Park on West Drive by 64th Street. Runners will then proceed south along 7th Avenue to 42nd Street where they will then turn west onto West Street. They will then proceed down the West Side to the Battery Park Underpass and finish at South Street Seaport on the Lower East Side.

Drivers face possible delays on the Manhattan Bridge, the George Washington Bridge, the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels and the West Side Highway. Anyone heading out Sunday is urged to use mass transit as an alternate.
