Family asks for witnesses' help after cruiser death

The family of a Canarsie man fatally struck by a police cruiser is pleading for witnesses to help with the investigation. Tamon Robinson, 27, was hit earlier this month at the Bayview Houses. Authorities say they responded to a call about someone stealing paving stones from the NYCHA complex and chased him until he was struck. Robinson was eventually taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he died of blunt trauma to the head. The victim's mother says he was not immediately taken to the hospital and that she was not informed of his injury until 12 hours after it happened. The Kings County District Attorney's Office has launched an independent investigation into the incident. Police: Suspected brick thief hit by patrol car
