Funeral held for slain NYPD auxiliary officer

Hundreds of NYPD auxiliary officers gathered this morning in Flatlands to bid a final farewell to a fallen colleague who was gunned down near his home. Frencky Aleger, a 39-year-old father of two, was shot twice in the back at East 95th Street and Glenwood Road in Canarsie last Wednesday. During today's funeral at the Holy Family Church, Aleger's co-workers said they came out to support his family and thank him for his service. "He volunteered his services to the police department so we want to just say 'Thank you' for letting him be a part of our lives," says Auxiliary Police Chief Tony Christo.Police are still searching for Aleger's killer. They're offering a $12,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest.
