Family, friends say goodbye to slain NYPD auxiliary officer
Family and friends said goodbye today to an NYPD auxiliary officer who was gunned down near his Brooklyn home last week.
According to police, Franky Aleger was shot in the back at East 95th Street and Glenwood Road in Canarsie. No arrests have been made, and a $12,000 reward is being offered for information leading to a conviction.
The 39-year-old, who volunteered for the NYPD in Manhattan, leaves behind a wife and two children, ages 6 and 8.
Aleger will be laid to rest tomorrow morning. Funeral services begin at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church.
