Hundreds of Brooklyn residents today took advantage of a program aimed at dismissing minor offenses without doing jail time.More than 200 Brooklyn residents visited Mount Pisgah Baptist Church today to take part in ?Project Safe Surrender,? a program for people with tickets for minor offenses.Brooklyn residents who got in trouble for breaking the law but didn't want to go to court or couldn't pay their tickets came to the church to have their tickets taken care of. Participants just had to fill out paperwork and see a judge to clear the ticket from their records.The Brooklyn District Attorney's Office says there are about 25,000 warrants out for people in the borough with tickets for minor offenses, like loitering, spitting and small amounts of marijuana.?Project Safe Surrender? picks up again tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
