State cracks down on video gaming sex offenders
New York is stepping up its efforts to protect children from sex offenders playing online gaming systems.
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced Thursday that more than 3,500 convicted offenders in the state will be kicked off popular gaming platforms that allow them to chat live, including Xbox and PlayStation.
Under state law, convicted sex offenders must register all of their email addresses, screen names and other Internet identifiers.
