Today Mayor Michael Bloomberg unveiled the taxi of tomorrow. The vehicle sports several upgrades, including outlets, USB ports, reading and floor lights, and doors that slide open and close to avoid hitting passing traffic.

All the cars will also be able to operate fully with electric power and cost about $29,000 each. The current taxis are expected to be phased out by 2018.
