Volunteers pitch in to build playground in Crown Heights
More than 200 volunteers pitched in today to help put a playground together in one day, despite drizzly skies.
The playground was built in the parking lot of the Calvary Community Church in in Crown Heights. Organizers say children in the area needed a safe, fun place to play.
The church raised about $10,000 to go toward the construction of the playground. The rest of the $80,000 in funding came from Forest City Ratner Companies.
