Board of Elections requires voter recount in 27th District seat

The Board of Elections is requiring a recount for the 27th State Senate District election that was this past March. Board of Elections officials say just 27 votes separate Republican David Storobin and Democrat Lew Fidler, with Storobin on top. A manual recount is required when the vote difference is less than half of the percent of the total votes cast. The two candidates are battling to fill the seat vacated by Carl Kruger, who was convicted of corruption charges.
