A Bed-Stuy mother accused of starving, drugging and beating her 4-year-old daughter testified in court today that she never harmed the child. Carlotta Brett-Pierce acknowledged today that the child, Marchella, had lost weight, but argued that she "didn't look bad." The girl was found dead inside the family's apartment back in September 2010. Brett-Pierce and her mother, Loretta Brett, are charged with murder in the case.
