Students at Lutheran Medical Center are training on the move. The students are honing their laparoscopic surgery skills inside an 85-foot tractor-trailer. The operating room on wheels is part of a tour that will visit other hospitals around the country. The students say the hands-on experience will likely benefit them in the operating room. Laparoscopic procedures, which are minimally invasive, could mean lower costs for the hospital and patient. They also tend to require quicker recovery times.
