Opponents of the Barclays Centers liquor policy are concerned after learning luxury seat owners will be allowed to drink well after events at the arena end.

When the arena opens its doors in September, the concession stands will stop selling liquor and beer before the start of the fourth quarter. This policy, however, does not apply to private suites or enclosed restaurants.

Residents of the surrounding area are concerned that this portion of the policy will create trouble on the streets surrounding the arena.

Forest City Ratnor, the real estate development company for the arena, said in a statement that it will institute a two-drink limit per transaction per patron come September.
