Police: 17-year-old boy shot near Grady H.S. in Brighton Beach
Police say a 17-year-old boy was shot in the chest this afternoon near Grady High School in Brighton Beach.
Officials say the shooting happened at around 3 p.m. They say the shooting happened at the Grady playground which is next to the high school grounds.
Police say the teen was trying to stop the robbery of a fellow teen.
School officials say the teen was taken to Lutheran Medical Center and is expected to survive.
