Neighbors fed up with Nassau Ave. construction
Construction along Nassau Avenue is causing major headaches for some Greenpoint residents and one local official is calling for changes. State Assemblyman Joe Lentol (D-Brooklyn) wants the city's Department of Transportation to suspend alternate side parking regulations for the Nassau Avenue corridor. He also wants it suspended on all adjoining streets for the duration of the construction project. Crews have been reconstructing storm and sanitation sewers, and putting in new granite curbs and concrete sidewalks. The assemblyman says parking in the area has become a nightmare. Neighbors say it's made worse by weekly film shoots that take place in the area.
