Throop Ave. residents fed up with years of trash build-up
Residents along Throop Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant say they're fed up with trash that has been piling up in their community for years. Neighbors complain that bags of garbage are piled several feet high along their block. Residents say they've called 311 to have the issue taken care of in the past, but after crews clean up the mess, it appears again within a week or two. The owner of a building in the area installed cameras to catch the people who have been dumping trash, but says the camera was quickly stolen.
