SUNY Downstate workers protest possible hospital cuts

Workers from SUNY Downstate Medical Center took to the streets Monday to protest possible layoffs.

The employees rallied as hospital officials met to discuss a restructuring plan that could result as many as 1,000 job losses.

Protesters argue that the plan threatens vital health care services for thousands of residents and would have a negative impact on central Brooklyn's already struggling economy.
