Bloomberg: Power restored to thousands in public housing

Mayor Michael Bloomberg says that power has finally been restored to thousands of public housing tenants throughout the city.

Bloomberg announced late Tuesday that nearly all NYCHA buildings are back to normal after more than two weeks without electricity, heat and water in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

There are still outages in three Brooklyn housing developments, including three buildings at the O'Dwyer Gardens in Coney Island, one building in Red Hook East and two more in Red Hook West. An additional eight developments in the borough have power, but remain without heat and hot water.
