BK artist joins worldwide fight against measles
A Brooklyn artist has joined the worldwide fight against measles by saving lives one picture at a time.
Sophie Blackall designs awareness posters from her Gowanus studio to help combat measles in third-world countries. She's also traveled to Africa with the Red Cross to spread the message about preventing the disease.
Blackall says she's determined to make a difference using the three things she loves: drawing, children and travel.
Measles kills 400 children a day and can be cured with two doses of a vaccine that costs just $1 per child.
