2-alarm fire displaces 5 families in East NY

Five families have been left without a home following a two-alarm fire in East New York.
According to fire officials, flames broke out inside a three-story building at Dumont Avenue and Elton Street at around 3:30 a.m. Monday.
No injuries were reported, but tenants say they're lucky to be alive. One mother says she and her five children only made it out safely because of two police officers who banged on their front door.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
