Police: Man dies after getting hit by subway train

Police say a 40-year-old man has died after being hit by a subway train.

Officials say the incident occurred at the Ralph Avenue station at around midnight in Ocean Hill.

Police report that the victim was on the southbound tracks when the train approached. The victim attempted to jump back onto the platform, but was unable to recover before he was hit and pinned by the train.

The victim was pronounced dead at Interfaith Hospital.

The NYPD is currently investigating the incident.
