City hits the brakes on delivery bike riders
Some city politicians want to put the brakes on reckless deliveryman who they say speed dangerously through the streets on two wheels.
The Department of Transportation (DOT) says it's dropping in on restaurants with warnings, and newly proposed laws could increase the penalties and enforcement of existing laws for the messengers.
There are some 50,000 commercial cyclists in New York and lawmakers say that not all of them follow traffic laws because they're in a hurry to deliver.
